Learn to drive!

I put my article on doctors on pause for a moment - but it is almost finished. I did so to discuss an on-going trend here in California - people who flat out should not be behind the wheel of anything with a motor!

What is wrong with the huge population of drivers here that drive like fools? I am referring to those that either; drive 45 miles an hour on the freeway in the fast lane, insist on driving no further than 12 inches from your bumper, zoom around to pass you and then cut you off to slow down as soon as they are in front of you, or (my favorite of all) those who slow down to 10 miles per hour anytime it's raining!

California does not have a lot of rain but it does rain here once in awhile - but it's as if people believe the sky is actually falling! It's a bit like that crime rates connection with the full moon; it starts raining lightly and they all just start acting/driving like someone flipped off the brain switch - lots of them slow down to just above coasting uphill speed, while others speed up to 95 and swerve between lanes without signaling and their lights off, and still others just change lanes aimlessly like a heard of confused cattle.

We really need to re-think the prerequisites for allowing people to drive 2000 pound pieces of metal in this state. We might decrease traffic if we did even a half way decent job of making sure people driving were at the very least; sane, coherent, and had an IQ above their shoe size!
